I’m already a huge fan of Julia Louis-Dreyfus so “Enough Said” (2013) has been on my watch list for some time.  It’s a warm and encouraging look at dating as a divorcee and all the pros and cons that involves.

Dev Patel
shines in this refreshing retelling of Charles Dickens’ David Copperfield by director Armuando Iannucci. It has slapstick British humour and eccentric characters but still retains a heartfelt core.

Content warning - This article contains discussion of sexual violence as well as major spoilers for "The Gentlemen"

I really enjoyed Guy Ritchie's new "The Genlemen" (2020). But when sexual violence is used as a blatant plot device and more attention is given to the husband of the victim than the victim herself it shows how much sexual violence is accepted and belittled.

“Waiting for Anya” (2020) feels like a good learning resource for a school history lesson. Its drama is gentle, the people are all very clean and the peril is mild. But it still helps to shine a light on the brave townsfolk all around Europe who risked death to smuggle others to safety across the borders.

Small spoilers contained within
The reviews have been savage. Psychadelic fever dream nightmare fuel. But while it has its problems I don't think it's deserving of the zero star ratings.

Here I take  a look at the biggest areas of criticism and see whether "Cats" is as bad as they all say.

Review: Little Women

I have never read the book “Little Women” by Louisa May Alcott or seen any of the previous adaptations. I have little interest in period dramas, frocks and debutant balls. All I knew about the film was that there were a bunch of teenage-ish girls, it was written 150 years ago and the Joey on Friends got upset about one of the characters dying.

So, I knew I’d be a hard sell on this but after a shaky start this film really won me over.
